Success Stories: Data & Reporting
A state agency in the Southwest U.S. licenses and regulates residential and commercial contractors. This agency’s staff investigates and works to resolve complaints against licensed and unlicensed contractors. The mission of the agency is to promote quality construction by the States contractors through a licensing and regulatory system designed to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
The agency migrated to a new Line of Business system in March 2010. At the time of its implementation, not all data was scrubbed or converted and as a consequence, data in the new system was problematic and unreliable. This resulted in reports that were inaccurate. Additionally, public-facing information was only updated on a daily or weekly basis. Finally, reporting mechanisms were antiquated and largely undocumented, making the on-going support difficult.
Build a SQL Server 2012 Data Warehouse with clean and reliable data that is properly formatted and can be used for accurate reporting. This was accomplished using SQL Server Data Tools for development and TFS for source code management and versioning and project management.
Designed and implemented a SQL Server 2012 Data Warehouse . Built 198 Integration Services data loaders, also used third party components from Melissa Data to assist in cleansing as well as Geocoding addresses.
